Artwork of the Day
Published:
A prototype that returns a different entry point into The Met collection each day, choosing an artwork from open data about your location, the weather, the news, and historical data. The inputs differ for each person, so no two people get the same artwork.
Built over two days at The Met x Microsoft x MIT hackathon at Microsoft’s Garage space in the New England Research & Development center, one of five prototypes from that session. I worked on it as Lead Developer in The Met’s Digital Department, with Noelle LaCharite of Microsoft and Isaac Lau of MIT.
The hackathon drew on The Met’s Open Access API images and data, along with a then-new subject keyword data set.
